Children's work during closure
Information regarding how we will be managing children’s remote learning
In order for children to continue with their schoolwork for the duration of the time that school is closed, each child has been provided with an exercise book (admittedly, with squares, but that is all we have), a maths workbook (their Inspire Maths Practice Book) and a set of instructions for accessing the online Google Classroom. There is a Google Classroom app which you can install on your phone in order to access the work.
If our child was in school today, they will bring their books home. If your child was not in school today, please come to the office to collect your child’s books as soon as you can. There will be staff working in school next week even though it is closed to children. All work will be set on Google Classroom. Each week you will receive a timetable of the work that your child needs to do throughout the week. Your child will get daily instructions which detail the work they need to complete that day and this will be uploaded by 9am each day. There will be 3 assignments each day. Work handed in by children will be marked within 48 hours. For maths work that is completed in the Practice Book, teachers will provide the answers for you or your child to mark via Google Classroom.
Children of key workers and other children for whom we are providing essential childcare will complete the same activities in school.
Children will be expected to read daily.
As children will be working online and will be able to communicate with their teacher, please monitor what they do to ensure they are using the internet safely and appropriately.
This is a completely new way of working for the children and the teachers and there may be issues in getting everything working smoothly. Please be patient and help us to make this work by ensuring your child is completing work set. If you have any problems regarding the work or setting up Google Classroom, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
