Belmont families PTA
Who We Are
Belmont Families is the Parent–Teacher Association (PTA) for Belmont Infant School and Belmont Junior School, and a registered charity (No. 1187712) created to support both schools equally.
Our purpose is to advance the education of all pupils by:
-
Raising funds for enrichment activities, facilities and equipment, ensuring equal opportunities for all children.
-
Celebrating and promoting our diverse school community creating a friendly, inclusive environment.
-
Providing extra opportunities for pupils to have fun at school.
-
Developing strong, positive relationships between staff, parents, carers, and others connected with the schools.
Belmont Families PTA is about more than fundraising: it builds community, strengthens school–home relationships, and enriches our children’s experience at school.
Everyone’s Included
All Belmont parents, carers, and staff are automatically members of the PTA.
Trustees
A small group who ensure the PTA is run properly and in line with charity regulations. The role is open to all parents and staff.
Committee Members
Meet once a term to decide priorities, spending, and events. Anyone can join the Committee at any time. Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer (or co-roles) are required to run the charity by law.
Working Groups
Big events (like fairs or quiz nights) are organised separately by a small team of volunteers. You don’t need to be on the Committee — just willing to help out!
Class Reps
Class reps share PTA news, encourage participation, and help keep families connected. Reps are in place by the AGM each October.
How You Can Get Involved
There are lots of ways to take part — whether you have a little or a lot of time to give!
1. Donate or Fundraise
● Make a one-off donation via PayPal https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/M5SENJA9GCAQU
● Ask your employer about match funding schemes or charity payroll giving.
● Support us for free when shopping online via easyfundraising.org.uk — just choose Belmont Families (infant & junior schools) Wood Green as your cause.
● Offer raffle or auction prizes, or donate equipment or services.
2. Volunteer
We need volunteers for events and activities throughout the year. Shifts usually last for half of the event so you can still enjoy seeing your children take part. Look out for volunteer sign up sheets or working group WhatsApp group invites throughout the year.
3. Become a Class Rep
Class reps are key to communication — they share updates and foster class-level community spirit. The role can be shared.
4. Join the Committee
We’re always happy to welcome new members. To find out more, email us at BelmontFamiliesPTA@gmail.com
Look out for event into in newsletters, on posters, and updates on school noticeboards.
What We’ve Achieved This Year (2024–25)
This year, Belmont Families raised over £31,000 through a wide range of events, including our quiz night, Summer Fair, food festival & car boot sale, disco, football tournament and days such as Creative Hair Day and Treat Fridays.
Funds supported enrichment activities, pantomimes, artist visits, and school trips, helping to keep costs affordable for families.
We’ve focused on inclusion and community, celebrating cultural diversity and ensuring everyone can take part. Our network of class reps and WhatsApp groups continues to build strong links between families and staff, creating a welcoming and connected school community.
