BELMONT JUNIOR SCHOOL

Beat the Heat Campaign

How did you cope during London's hottest recorded May?

Thankfully, many of us could reach for fans, ice creams and shady spots during the recent warm weather. However, when temperatures rise during term time, many of our children and staff are learning and working in increasingly hot south-facing classrooms.

As temperatures continue to break records, we want to take action now to improve the learning environment for our pupils and create more comfortable outdoor spaces at Belmont Juniors.

We have launched our Beat the Heat campaign (June 2026), with a goal of raising £25,000 to install external blinds and plant trees to provide much-needed shade across the school site.

We would be incredibly grateful if you could support the campaign by:

🎥 Watching our campaign video
❤️ Making a donation, if you are able
📢 Sharing the campaign with friends, family and colleagues

Every contribution, no matter the size, will help us create cooler classrooms and more shaded spaces for our children.

You will also see our giant fundraising totaliser in the Junior playground from tomorrow, where we will be tracking our progress towards our £25,000 target.

Thank you for your continued support of the school and for helping us make a lasting difference for current and future Belmont pupils.

Learning for Life

We are a happy, inclusive and nurturing school where children enjoy learning and make good progress.

We provide a rich diet of exciting experiences as they progress through our school from  Year 3 to year 6. Our curriculum harnesses curiosity, encourages creativity and fosters an interest in the world around us. We aim that all our children leave the school with the confidence to face new challenges,  with a love of learning and with memories that will last them a lifetime.

In our school we have the highest expectations in terms of children’s work, their conduct around school, in their manners and their behaviour. Our children are happy to be at our school and achieve well - we are proud that they leave our school well equipped for the next phase of their education.

In April 2022 Ofsted said, "Pupils behave well and are generally kind to each other. They show high levels of respect during lessons and enjoy learning. Pupils said that they love their school... Pupils said that they can be who they want to be. They said that differences will be respected...The learning environment is calm and orderly, and importance is placed on learning. Pupils know that good behaviour is necessary to achieve this, and they rise to this expectation. Pupils are engaged, and focused on learning, in all lessons. "

Our values of perseverance, learning, generosity of spirit and collaboration are at the centre of everything we do.
